Blast from the Past

Wow what a title. This post is about things done back in the 70's. Ok I Know I'm dating my self. Somewhere around 1974 - 1976. I was between 11 & 13. My Step Mom Passed away over 5 years ago and Bless her she kept everything. I was going through some stuff this morning looking for a roll of tape and found the box of things she had kept for me. I decided to go through it and actually takea good look. What I found:

Early proof of card making. I was making my own cards and envelopes even befor it was popular.{lol} I don't think I did too bad back then. I guess it was meant for me to make cards and other paper crafts. I totally wish I could give my step mom a hug and thank her once again for instilling a love of crafting in to my life. She was a crafter if ever there was one. She was the orignal recycler. She bargain hunted and could tell you where to find the best deals on craft stuff. You never knew what she would come up with.  She truly is missed.

Fairy Knolls Challange

Wow can you believe it's Friday already.  This week"s challenge at fun at fairy knoll is "Anything goes" Just please use a Halloween image.
I choose to use the image "Pumpkin + Fairy" This paper is so cute. I relized after making the card I had used a piece a couple weeks ago on another challenge. It came in a 12x12 card stock and I had cut it down to 6x6 size. I colored the image with copics. I layered her with pop dots. The foam ghost is from a container I got at Michaels full of ghost and tomb stones along with some letters. I cut the bats out of a card stock I had and pop dotted them up.  Hope you have enjoyed this project and join us at fairy knoll for this week challenge for a chance to win an image of your choice. Have a great Halloween & besure to go by all the design team blogs to see all the great stuff they have in store for you.

Fairy Knolls Challange

Challange time again at .fun at fairy knoll. This week's Challange is "Halloween". I choose to use "Batgirl'.

I found this candy box printable off the web here. Just print out and follow directions. I then printed out the image and colored her with copics.Cut her out and pop dotted her on the container. Stamped out the saying and sponged the edges. Then rounded the corners and pop dotted it up.
I had hoped to get out and about in blog world this week to do some challenges using some Fairy images. But being sick and on tons of meds {that made the cure almost worse then the the ill}, kind of put that on the back burner. That is also the reason for the more simpler project this week. Hope to be back in the roll of things soon.
Besure and go by to check out all the great stuff the team has come up with. While there join in on the challenge for a chance to win a great image. Hope your week end is great and happy crafting.

Feature Friday & Blog Hop Winner

Wow, This week has been crazy. I have caught some crazy bug and been in super slow mood. The doctor had me off work for a couple days and with my schedule I ended up with a week off. Most of the time that would be great. But being sick made it suck. You all know what I mean You have the I want to's But not the energy or umpf to. Ok enough on to this week's challenge.

This week at the character cafe the challange is to : use three squares, three flowers and all month orange. I choose to use the image "Pokey" I also choose to try my hand at a swing card.

I enjoyed making this card. Though I must admit it took four try's for me to get the cutting right.I really shouldn't try and follow directions while feeling the way I did. Thank goodness I am starting to feel better.
The card stock is stampin up. The flowers are from K&Company. The greeniery stamps I have in stach. The sun & flower stamps are from stampin up. I cut out his shell and pop dotted it up. I also added rinestones to his antanas.  The clouds are cut out of some background paper I had.

Card Making Day & More

Wow, Can you believe it is already Oct. I had the day off yesterday so my Friend Donna and I spent the day crafting. Partly because we were both off and we knew we would be too busy to do it today. The men being home and all.  LOL So it being card making day and all I thought I would share the things we did.

The first is a couple of cards we made using the "scallop circles #2" from stampin up. I cased the chick and then came up with the santa using the same idea as the chick.

The second two are using the "top note" die from stampin up they have a box in the center for adding candy.

The third is also using the top note die. I don't really like the way the santa turned out. I need to make the eyes bigger.

After a full afternoon of crafting Honey came home and took me to dinner. The best part of that was that after dinner it was a trip to Hobby Lobby. Where I found nestabilities on sale for "$8.99" a set. Yes I said "$8.99". Well I was going to be good and only get two sets but honey said at that price go ahead and get the 4 sets I wanted. Can you say WOW. I got over $100.00 worth for 36.00.  That was a great end to a great day.

Hope everyone enjoy's their card making day and if we get back in time I will be doing more and posting tomorrow. Have a crafty good day.
