Challenges

Wow it's Friday already. Work was so busy yesterday it went by quick. If you can call over 13 hours quick. Enough on to the challenges I have made a card using the image "Turtle Love " from character cafe.

The first challenge is over at fab n funky challenges. The challenge was not to use any designer paper. I choose to use my heart embossing sleeve . I think it adds a certin touch. Sometimes I get so caught up I forget about them. This challenge makes you think about all the things you have and never use.

The second challenge is over at get sketchy . The sketch this week is:

The last challenge is over at raise the bar challenge. The challenge is to use your retreat. Be inspired by your bedroom colors, or if you prefer, any other room in your home! My favorite room in my house is my "Oz" Room. I collect the "Wizard of  Oz" and my guest room is where I have collected everything. The main color is Pink. Right now I have a pink quilt on it.

But In two weeks I will be picking up a very special "Oz" quilt made by my Aunt and Mom. I can hardly wait.  So that is my inspired color for this card.
I hope you get inspired and dig out some of your forgotten things and find a room in your home to challenge you. Have a great day and happy crafting.

Sock Monkeys

If you been here befor you know I made a sock monkey for my granddaughter about a month ago. Well she has moved to Florida & has shown it to my other grandkids. Now I am making sock monkeys for all of them. I found this cute digi over at http://meljensdesigns.blogspot.com/. So I have made small cards for each one. They are 2 3/4 x 4 1/2. I will tie these around thier necks so they will know which one belongs to who. They are all getting shipped to one address.
I think they turned out really cute. I used really rust card stock from stampin up. Colored them using copics, added ribbon and small buttons from my stach. The words are from a retired set from stampin up.The back ground paper is from my stach also.Hope you have a great day & happy crafting.

When you get this image it comes in a couple differnt styles. One has words with it and one don't. The word's that come with it say "no bones about it I love you" I typed this one up to say "We love you". I plan on using this for family pictures to give my mom for mother's day. Besure and go by and check out all the great stuff they have over at both the character cafe and sew many challenges. They both have great stuff and great challenges coming up. Week End News

We went to Orlando for the week end and I got to do some stamping with my friend Eve. We stamped on Friday night and Saturday night. We spent Saturday at Ikea. We both went out if there with a cart of stuff. Hers a little fuller then mine. She is redoing her craft area. Now a few things we did:

Here's a close up of the flower

It was made using the scalloped edge circle punch. We punched out 7 circles used a brad to hold them together. Then scranched up each petal to form the flower. I think they are so neat.
We also made mini scrap books using coasters. Here are the pages of  what I have done so far
The bird is a punch from stampin up. The flower is made of accetat

We added an envelope to make pockets. A pansie flower made from the butterfly punch
from stampin up and don't for get the added button.

here I added another accetat flower and a accetat page stamped with stazon
I made a tag and plan on making more for the inside of the envelope pages.
Well I hope you like this and maybe it will insipre you to make one too. Have a great night and happy crafting.

Catch The Bug Challenge

The challenge over at catch the bug is to make a project with a bug in it. I choose to use the free digi image at thier shop.
I colored the image using copics. I popped up the lady bg and the jar lid. I used a thin grograin ribbon and stamped little dots on it. The saying I typed up using word. The inside says " GET WELL SOON". The card base is one from the stach I picked up yesterday at the scrapbook store. {see earlier post} Have a great day and happy crafting.

Your Scrapbook Store

About every month or so I go over to Severville about 25 miles from my home and shop at The discount scrapbook store over there. This time I had a goal in mind. I'm making up goody bags for a stamping group I am in. We get together every month Via web cam.
I only spent $12.87 with tax for all the things I got. I made up 6 bags & that made them less then $2.00 a bag.
Inside each bag there is:

16 ~ 8.5x 11 sheets of paper
100 ~ 5.25 X 5.25 Blank cards to create with
3 ~ packs of Twist tart paper yarn with a twist
1 ~ container of little hearts and such for putting on finished projects

I really think I did great for the money I spent. If you live near Severville and have never been there you need to stop by. Everything in the clearance store is half off the lowest marked price. I always find great deals. They have everything, from paper to albums , stamps, diecuts and much more.

Monday's Project

On Monday I spent the day making another Sock animal & card for my Grandson who lives in Flordia. The animal this time is an Elephant. I thought he would like it better then a monkey.
He turned out real cute. Was almost as easy as the monkey.  I made a card to go with him using a Bugaboo image.
The card stock is from Stampin up. I colored him with Copics using #w3  & w5. Don't need much for an elephant.I got the background paper at the scrapbook clearence store in Severville, Tn. More on them later. I used a Martha Stewart punch. The words are from a retired Stampin up set.
I will be back later to let you see what I got at the scrapbook store on the cheap. Have a great day and happy crafting.

More Cards

Well, I can't seem to stop today. I went to Digi days on Saturday for Digi Shack . Had a great time she had a great sale. I bought a lot of her images at the sale she had. So I used a couple to make some birthday cards. The first one is for the Wednesday Sketch challenge at the Digi Shack.

This is the sketch to use for the challenge.
This is the card I made using the sketch

The words come with the image. Isn't she cute. I used copics to color her , the background paper is from life of the party & the card stock is stampin up.
This is another image from the digi shack. I have been making birthday cards like crazy. When I have so many I give them to my boss which she uses to pass on to the other employees on their Birthdays. It gets
my cards out in the hands of people that might niot other wise see them. I have already had people ask me if I sell them. So who knows maybe I can start something with this little advanture. Have a great night and happy crafting.

More challenges

Well I made another card to cover two challenges. This time I choose to use a freebie Image from  http://digitalpenciltoo.com/ . I just thought he screamed "King for the Day".

The challenge over at http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/ is to use black, white & craft colors. I colored him using my copics & added glitter using my spica pens from copic. I popped his crown up and added rinestones to it.

The next challenge is over at http://prairiefairyfridays.blogspot.com/ this challenge was to use any image and add texture to it. I embossed the black with diamonds and highligted them with a chalk white marker. I also added liquid applique to his robe.

Well this should be my last post for today. I am working this week end so watch out I will post again on Saturday.

Another Challenge

Today's Challenge

Well today I have a  differnt kind of challenge. My granddaughter is on spring break and she came over to spend my day off with me. She got here and her request is for granny to make her a sock monkey. You know the old fashion kind. So on with the challenge to  first find the socks. You have to know I have never made one of these. I have made lots of things but never a sock monkey. So on the computer we went to try and find these socks locally. Well lots of places carry them on line but finding them locally was a whole other subject. Finnally we went down town Knoxville to General mast store. Kind of a newer old store. There we found them only 10.99 for two pair.
Now to get started. You can find the directions here. The directions are also on the back of the sock card. We got "red Heel" by Fox River. Well Now on to the sewing and putting together.

Don't forget this is the first time I ever made one of these. Not really too hard a lot of hand sewing. But about 1 1/2 hours later we were done, with the first one. She wants a girl and boy. Says everyone needs a friend. I say one is enough. So first one done is a girl I added a peace bow to her ear. Peace signs and monkeys are the thing this week. LOL

Well that is all for today. I plan on spending my day off tomorrow making some much needed cards and entering some card challenges so be sure and stop back by to see what is next to come. Have a great day and happy crafting.
